March 12, 2010. Concordia University Irvine’s 7th Annual Faith and Business Forum brought nearly 300 people together on a Friday afternoon to hear Ken Costa, chairman of Lazard International in London and former vice chairman of UBS Investment Bank, talk about his recent book “God at Work.”

It was the first time the London investment banker spoke in the U.S. about his book, which describes how he embraces the biblical principles that underpin his faith and applies them to the 21st century workplace of today.  Costa explained our love for God should fuel the passion to pursue excellence at work and motivate us to maintain a healthy balance between life and career. For more information, please visit http://godatwork.org.uk/.

Besides his dedication to bridging the gap between Christianity and work, Costa is also the Chairman of Alpha International, which promotes the Alpha course - an introduction to the Christian faith attended by over two million people in the UK and ten million worldwide. Visit http://uk.alpha.org for more details.

As in previous Forums, Concordia presented its Faithfulness and Excellence Award to a business leader in the community who consistently integrates the Christian faith with his/her business practices. This year, the award was given to Mark Wetterau, Chairman and CEO of Golden State Foods in Irvine.

The Faith and Business Forum was made possible by the generous sponsorships from Golden State Foods, Kay Institute of Thinking, Wedbush Securities, Fresh Start Bakeries, KKLA 99.5 FM, The Fish 95.9, DeNault’s True Value Hardware and NuWest Insurance Services.
